Max Corbett, born in 2001, spent his early childhood in Suffolk (England), but has called Jersey (Channel Islands) his home since the age of 9.

At 17, Max began taking private art commissions, helping him fund his way through his university life. He pursued a degree in Fine Art and Design, beginning 2020, at Lancaster University, earning a first-class honours degree in 2023.

Max specialises in portraiture, favouring oil paint and canvas as his primary mediums. His university course was divided evenly between art and design, with each accounting for 50% of his academic focus. His exposure to the aesthetically driven world of design has armed him with a distinctive approach to his art. Max leverages his knowledge of both design and fine art to allow a unique perspective on composition, colour theory, and the use of light and shadow in his work. He integrates both design and fine art principles into his contemporary portraiture style.

What truly drives Max is his fascination with people. His art is a way of exploring the nuances of individual identity and expression. Max views his portraits as unique characters, inviting viewers to interpret and connect with them in their own distinct ways.
